Facilities
Library
College Library is self sufficient in providing
textbooks, reference books and scientific research journals in
various disciplines of Pharmaceutical Sciences to the students
and professionals. A facility of computer Lab and Internet is
also provided to the students. Dr. Hamid Saeed is the In-charge
of library.
Research Labs
College Research labs are well equipped with the
Modern and State of the art instruments necessary for
Postgraduate research. Our labs have Atomic Absumption
Spectrometer, FTIR, Dissolution with auto sampler, HPLC, DSC
etc. besides the basic laboratory instruments. Prof. Dr. Khalid
Hussain is the in-charge of Research Labs.
Computer Lab
Two Computer Labs , one for undergraduate and
other for postgraduate students. is available in the College.
The postgraduate computer lab with multi-media and digital
library facility is available in the college. Prof. Dr. Nadeem
Irfan Bukhari is the officer In-charge of Computer Lab & Mr.
Muhammad Jawad Aslam is responsible to manage overall network,
server computers, website development and updating & CCTV System.
Animal House
The College has full-fledged and fully equipped
animal house to facilitate the postgraduate research involving
animals. Currently rabbits, rats and mice are available in the
animal house.
Pharmacy Health Club
The Club organizes First Aid Training and Blood
Donation Camp's in collaboration with Punjab Red Crescent
Society. Miss Rahat Shamim is the In-charge for this Club.
Transport
University buses ply between Quaid-i-Azam Campus
and Allama Iqbal Campus and in certain specified parts of city
to provide comfortable conveyance to the students. The Punjab
University College of Pharmacy owns two mini busses which are
used to for hospital and industrial trips.

Hostel Accommodation (For Morning Students
only)
Hostel accommodation is available for students at
both of the University Campuses. A separate application for the
hostel accommodation is to be submitted to the College
Principal, along with a medical certificate from one of the
following laboratories showing that the candidate is free from
any Hepatitis Viruses.

Dr. Hamid Saeed is the In-charge of the hostels accommodation. Due to large number of students in variety of study programs,
the hostel accommodation will be provided on the basis of
availability of Hostel.
Tutorials & Seminars
The tutorial meetings and seminars are held
regularly to provide students with an opportunity to discuss
academic, professional and social problems. The seminars and
group discussions are a regular feature of the curriculum.
Facilities Provided to Postgraduate Students
M.Phil and Ph.D student shall enjoy all
facilities of a regular University student such as Accommodation
(depends upon the availability of seats), Transport,
Library/computer lab/internet and animal house.
Utilization of Intra and Inter Departmental
Facilities.

We have established postgraduate research
labs in each disciplines of Pharmacy. We promote
coordination, cooperation and collaboration among different
departments within the University and the students enrolled
in postgraduate programs, may be used any lab outside the
college by attaching the expertise there as a Co-Supervisor.

A strong liaison be established between
research Organizations/Institutes (e.g. PCSIR, PINSTECH,
NIAB, NIBGE, PARC, HEJ, PTB, BISE, CW) where our Ph.D.
student could work for short periods to utilize their
equipment facilities.

Sandwich programme be initiated between
University of the Punjab and other high tech. Labs
Universities in Europe and U.S.A. (e.g. DAAD , extends this
facility to developing countries.)
Funding and Scholarships
-
A limited number of scholarships are also
available for M. Phil and Ph.D. students. Which will be
awarded on merit after completing the course work.

Recently we have signed a MoU with the
Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association to seek
the possibility of raising funds. We will attempt to gear up
to solve scientific problems encountered by the industry for
this purpose.

We are also coordinating with Ministry of
Science & Technology, Govt. of the Punjab , HEC etc. for
funding (JAICA & other international agencies).
Academic Calendar
On completion of admission Academic Calendar will
be provided/displayed on the notice board showing dates for Mid
& Final Term Exams, Declaration of results, submission of thesis
for M.Pil program. For Ph.D program, along with the above the
dates of submission of synopsis will be given.

Internship Scheme
The students of fourth & final professional
classes undergo six to eight weeks practical training in one of
the following fields, as has been prescribed in the curriculum,

This Activity is carried out by our Job Placement
and Career Counseling Cell.
Student Identity Cards
Identity cards are issued to the College students
on payment of the dues at the time of admission. It is
compulsory for each student to display the card during his/her
stay in the College. If the identity card is lost, students
should immediately report to the Principal for the duplicate
card on payment.

Gold Medal

Dr. Mehboob Rabbani Memorial Schazoo gold
medal is awarded yearly to a student who stands first in Pharm
D. Final Professional 1st Annual Examination.

Javaid A. Shaikh (C.C.L.) gold medal will be awarded every
year to a student who stands first in the Pharm. D. 4th
Professional 1st Annual Examination in the subject of Industrial
Pharmacy.

Ch. Fazal Din gold medal is awarded every year to a
student who stands first in M. Phil. Part-11 (Pharm. Chemistry)
1st Annual Examination.

Nawaz Memorial gold medal is awarded yearly to a student
who stands first in M. Phil. Part-11 (Pharmaceutics) 1st Annual
Examination.
Study Tours
Study tours are arranged for Doctor of Pharmacy
2nd and 4th Professional classes for the collection of medicinal
plants and to visit various pharmaceutical industries
respectively. M. Phil, students also undertake field work and
study tours. A substantial grant (only for Pharm.D programs) is
allocated by the university every year to cover up about 50% of
the expenses of these study tours. Remaining expenditures are
meet by the touring students through their own contribution.
Transcript Record
Transcript of academic records will be issued on
the payment of Rs. 200/-each. This amount is to be deposited in
the Habib Bank, University of the Punjab, Allama Iqbal Campus
Branch through the accountant of the College.

Sports
Sports are given due importance in the College
and the students are encouraged to participate actively in the
sport activities. These include indoor sports in the College as
well as inter-departmental outdoor sports of the University. The
sport activities are supervised by the nominee by the Principal
College of Pharmacy from among the faculty members.
Alumni
To foster the social interaction and sharing of
knowledge and practical issues with the graduate pharmacist of
the College periodic meetings and annual dinner for the alumni
is organized regularly. Prof. Dr. Khalid Hussain and Dr. Amjad
Hussain look after the Alumni of the College.
