Doctor of Pharmacy is a five years degree program based on annual system duly approved by HEC and Pharmacy Council of Pakistan.

The reserved seats are as follow: (Preference will be given to F.Sc students. In case of absence of F.Sc, B.Sc students may be considered).

  • Children / spouses / real brothers or sisters / nephews or nieces (in this order of priority) of the Punjab University Teachers, serving or retired, (excluding teachers on contract/deputation/part time) with a service of not less than five years. 04 Seats

  • Children / spouses / real brothers or sisters / nephews or nieces (in this order of priority) of the Punjab University Employees, serving or retired, (excluding employees on contract/ deputation/part-time) with a service of not less than five years. 04 Seats

  • Disabled persons on humanitarian grounds to be approved by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendations of the Principal of the College and duly approved by the concerned Dean and the Committee constituted to determine the disability of the candidates. 03 Seats

  • Outstanding persons (Male & Female) selected on various sports by the Special Sports Committee appointed by the Vice-Chancellor for such purpose on the basis of the level of sports of the candidates concerned. 03 Seats

  • (a) Candidates from Azad Kashmir, to be nominated by the Nomination Board, Government of Azad Kashmir, Muzaffarabad. 01 Seat
    (b) Candidates from Gilgit, Baltistan and other Northern Areas, to be nominated by the Nomination Board, Directorate of Education, Gilgit. 01 Seat

  • Student having distinction in Co-curricular activities to be selected by a Committee to be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor for this purpose. Activities to be decided by the admission committee. 03 Seats

  • Under provision of the drug Act 1976 the Children / spouses / brothers / sisters / Non Relative Nominee of the Company of the Proprietor / Partner / Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry, [in this order of priority) having minimum legal standing of five years from the date of Drug Manufacturing License and are appointed under the Drug Companies Ordinance, 1984, will be eligible for admission. The bank draft amounting to Rs. 2,50,000/- along with the application form payable in favor of Principal Punjab University College of Pharmacy, University of the Punjab Lahore. 03 Seats

  • Foreign students under (PTAP) Technical Assistance Programme including African Programme, duly recommended by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs Division, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad. 14 Seats.

  • Foreign students under Self Finance Scheme duly recommended by HEC, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad (Every student will pay 1000 US $ along with normal university dues) at the time of admission only 12 Seats.

  • Foreign students from Central Asian Region Republics duly recommended by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs Division. Government of Pakistan, Islamabad. 03 Seats.

  • Special seats for candidates from Bangladesh. 05 Seats.

  • Reserve seat for the students of Baluchistan: only those students are eligible who have Baluchistan Domicile & completed his/her Matric & F.Sc from the Institution of Baluchistan. 01 Seat.

  • Children/wards of martyrs/war disabled personnel of the Defense Forces (in the absence of this category, children / wards of serving or retired person of the Armed Forces) to be nominated by the G.H.Q. Adjutant General Branch, Rawalpindi. 01 Seat.

  • Son, Daughter grand children (in this order of Priority) of the Pharmacist (Proof required) who is registered in category “A” (valid/current Proof required) from any provincial Pharmacy Council of Pakistan holding Punjab Domicile. 03 Seats
    Seats for Overseas/ Ex-Patriates Students.

  • Pakistani students whose parents are expatriates, or are currently residing abroad (Proof required (a) A valid letter from Overseas Pakistani Foundation (O.P.F) regarding the admission. (b) A certificate from the parents of the candidate duly attested by the concerned Pakistani embassy. (c) Photocopy of the parent's passport duly attested by the concerned Pakistani embassy), can only apply directly. Foreign Students/Children of Pakistani ex-patriotism addition to the usual prescribed fees of the University and the Department concerned, shall pay US dollar 1,000/- or its equivalent Pak rupees at the time of admission in the particular bank accounts of the University. 05 Seats

Note:- For morning Class, two marks will be deducted from percent academic marks for each late session to a maximum of immediate last Five session.

 

Admission Procedure

  1. Admission Procedure

     

    • The Admission Notice for Doctor of Pharmacy First Professional Class will be floated in the leading Newspapers in Lahore and Rawalpindi simultaneously.

    • The applications on the prescribed forms (attached with this prospectus) complete in all respects are submitted in the University College of Pharmacy on or before the expiry date of receiving the admission forms as notified in the Admission Notice.

    • The admission form sent within due date by post/courier, are acceptable however a receipt thereof will not be provided. The admission forms received after due date will not be accepted/included in merit list. A candidate can not claim any favor if the admission office has not received admission form sent through post/courier.

    • The candidate who has obtained at least 60% marks of the total marks in F.Sc. (Pre-medical) B.Sc. (After 60% F.Sc. Pre-Medical) or equivalent examination from the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education or Universities in the territorial jurisdiction of the Punjab Province, will be eligible to apply for admission. The candidates whose parents possess domicile of Punjab and have been serving in other provinces and they have qualified from Boards/ Universities of other provinces; will also be eligible to apply for admission on open merit seats by giving cogent reasons to substantiate their claim. The candidates who qualify F.Sc./B.Sc. in Supplementary Examination 2016 will not be eligible for admission.

     

  2. The candidate seeking admission to Doctor of Pharmacy must be physically and mentally fit. The candidate shall attach photocopies of the following documents with the application form and shall produce his/her original certificates at the time of interview/admission. The original documents of the applicant will remain in the possession of the office till he/she completes his/her Doctor of Pharmacy Programme. However, the original documents will be returned to the student in case he/ she tenders written request for the cancellation of his/her admission or otherwise.

     

    Requirements of Admission

     

    • Fifteen recent passport size coloured photographs. [3 with application/12 after obtaining admission]

    • Secondary School Certificate showing date of birth (or equivalent certificate from IBCC)

    • Detailed marks Certificate of F.Sc. [Pre-medical] or B.Sc. [or equivalent certificate from IBCC]

    • Character certificate from the institution last attended

    • Physical Fitness Certificate (Original Not Photocopy) from a Registered Medical Practitioner

    • Domicile certificate

    • Certificate of Hafiz-e-Qur'an if applicable

    • Those students who applied from other boards will provide NOC after admission within a week

    • CNIC / Bay Form (Nadra) of the candidate

    • Father’s / Guardians CNIC

     

  3. The candidate will produce a certificate from a recognized Institution indicating that he/she is Hafiz-e-Qur'an. Moreover; the College Admission Committee will interview and test the candidate in order to substantiate his/her claim.

  4. The incomplete applications or those received after due date by post/courier will not be entertained.

  5. The list of the candidates admitted on Open Merit and on the waiting list will be displayed on the College Notice Board as per schedule of admission. The selected candidates will deposit University and College dues at Habib Bank Limited, old Campus Branch, Lahore, after obtaining necessary challan forms from the Accountant of the College within the due date. The candidate shall submit a copy of the Bank Receipt to the College on the same day in order to confirm his/her admission and to avoid any complications.

  6. The candidates for Reserved Seats should clearly indicate the Category of seat with bold letters in Red Ink in specific place on the Admission Form. The List of the candidates admitted on reserved seats will be displayed on the College Notice Board as per admission schedule.

     

    • There will be no discrimination of sex according to the Article 25(2) of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

    • The selection will be made purely on merit.

    • Vacant seat(s) if any will be filled strictly in accordance with the admission criteria.

    • In case the date for receiving the applications is extended, the admission of the fresh applicants will be made on merit.

    • If there are more than one applicant against any reserved seats, selection will be made purely on merit.

    • If there is no applicant for any reserved seat, the seat(s) will be transferred to the General Merit Quota or as decided by Admission committee.

     

  7. The candidates holding B.Sc. degree will be considered for admission provided they had passed the Intermediate Examination with Premedical subjects and had studied at least one or more of the subjects at B.Sc. level among Botany, Chemistry, Microbiology and/or Zoology.

  8. The merit of F.Sc. and B.Sc. candidates against open and reserved seats [other than foreign students) will be determined by the College Admission Committee. Two or more F.Sc. candidates having equal marks will be considered on their marks in Secondary School Certificates. If the marks in Secondary School Certificate are also equal, the candidate senior in age will be admitted. Similarly the merit of candidates, having equal marks in B.Sc. will be determined like that of F.Sc. candidates.

  9. The applicants on open merit must produce domicile of Punjab Province.

  10. The applicant with F.Sc. whose age is more than 24 years and one with B.Sc. whose age is more than 26 years, on the last date of submission of application will not admitted.

  11. Allocation of seats for admission is liable to be changed from time to time depending upon the National/ International requirements and the directives of the Government/ University authorities.

  12. For misleading and falsifying the facts on admission form the collage has rights to prosecute the candidate. Any decision made for such information will be corrected when recognized. All erros and omissions will be corrected when recognized. The losing candidate can not claim any compensation.

Admission Requirements for Foreign Students

 

Applications from foreign students should be submitted through the Ministry of Economic Affairs Division, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad through their respective Governments. Application sent directly to the College of Pharmacy will not be entertained. The student must submit equivalence certificates from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Islamabad prior to confirmation of their admissions.

 

Academic Calendar

 

From this year we are planning to provide/display on notice board the Academic Calendar after the completion of admissions bearing important information such as commencement of classes, send-ups, annual/ supplementary examinations, declaration of results , Seminars, Co- curricular events and holidays.

 

Migration

 

Applications for migration from other Universities is not accepted at any stage during academic session.
